When a man experiences sexual stimulation, the brain discharges a hormone that dilates the penile arteries causing blood to flow within them, thus, an erection is achieved. The erectile tissues fill up with blood, and it helps man maintain an erection allowing him to enjoy his sexual encounter. As soon as sexual intercourse has been achieved, the penile arteries constrict and penile veins dilate to drain the blood away from the penis until the penile pressure returns back to normal.

This post was stimulated (and you will have to excuse these absolutely inadvertant puns) by an anecdote recently shared with me by my wife.В  She and our 15 year old son were watching televsion when a commercial advertisement for Extenze, the ‘Natural Male Enhancement’ popped up.В  My son was absolutely dumbfounded and my wife pulled a Jackie Gleason (hmna hmna hmna) attempting to respond to this innocent question. What is acyclovir Acyclovir or Zovirax, as it is commonly known is an antiviral medication used to treat cold sores and genital herpes caused by the herpes virus. It is also prescribed to treat chickenpox and shingles due to the related herpes virus.
